Investigate a route in a defined time window

Start with the guard, assigned site and the period the supervisor needs to explain. Check the latest position's timestamp before using it to discuss current coverage. For an earlier event, open the recorded trail for that period and compare the available samples with the relevant QR or NFC visit and any message or alert.

Illustrative example: a client asks about a service entrance at 02:10. Review the entrance's checkpoint record and the surrounding trail, rather than using the guard's present map position to answer a historical question. A nearby GPS sample provides context; it does not establish that the guard touched an NFC tag, scanned a QR label or inspected the entrance. If the necessary evidence is absent, keep that uncertainty in the follow-up.

Separate a delayed upload from a missing location sample

During an active patrol, the Android location workflow can queue captured GPS samples for later upload. Received historical samples help explain the earlier route; their later arrival does not make them a fresh position. A connection interruption and a failure to capture a location are different problems. Reconnection cannot supply a GPS sample that the phone never recorded.

Check location permissions, the active shift or work state and the phone's connectivity when testing the route. Buildings, obstructed reception and device conditions can reduce useful location evidence. Use an outdoor geofence for the appropriate area-level question and a QR or NFC checkpoint for a named physical check. Do not interpret a line between recorded points as proof of every movement between them.
